Applications

  • Ammonia Fertilizer

    Hydrogen is the primary ingredient in artificial nitrogen fertilizers such as anhydrous ammonia and urea

  • Steelmaking

    Renewable hydrogen can be used to reduce iron ore in the steelmaking process in place of coking coal

  • Cement

    Renewable hydrogen can be used to fuel cement kilns in place of fossil fuels

  • Transportation

    Trucks, trains, ships, and airplanes could use renewable hydrogen or derivative fuels like renewable diesel, green methanol, and sustainable aviation fuel

Landus Green Ammonia Plant

Landus, Iowa's leading agricultural cooperative, partnered with Ideal Energy and Talus Ag to integrate solar energy and renewable ammonia fertilizer production into a grain drying facility. A 1.4 MW zero-carbon ammonia electrolyzer is at the heart of this pilot project.
